GluR inhibitors

Glutamate receptor (GluR) inhibitors are compounds designed to block or reduce the activity of glutamate receptors in the central nervous system (CNS). Glutamate receptors are essential for excitatory neurotransmission and play key roles in synaptic plasticity, learning, and memory. By inhibiting these receptors, GluR inhibitors can modulate excessive excitatory signaling, which is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders. These inhibitors can target various types of glutamate receptors, including ionotropic receptors (such as AMPA, NMDA, and kainate receptors) and metabotropic receptors (mGluRs), to regulate synaptic transmission and neuronal excitability.
