Manufacturing Process
120 parts urea and 258 parts 2-bromo-2-ethylbutyrylbromide was mixed and
stood at room temperature for 12 hours; then the mixture was heated about
3 hours on water bath and adjusted to alkaline pH with sodium bicarbonate
after cooling. The unreacted products was dissolved in brine, the insoluble
part was filtered off. The recrystallization from ethanol gave the title product -
(2-bromo-2-ethyl-butyryl)urea as the colorless, odorless crystals. MP 114°-

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 77-65-6 includes 5 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 2 digits, 7 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 77-65:
(4*7)+(3*7)+(2*6)+(1*5)=66
66 % 10 = 6
So 77-65-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
