Aluminium formate is the formate of aluminium, with the chemical formula Al(HCOO)3. It can be produced via the reaction of aluminium soaps and formic acid.

Chemical Properties

White, crystalline powder. Soluble in hot water; slightly soluble in cold water.

Uses

Waterproofing, mordanting, antiperspirants, tanning leather, improving wet strength of paper.
