Ethyl 2-(4-phenoxyphenoxy)ethylcarbamate is used as an insecticide for controlling a broad spectrum of insects. It acts as an insect growth regulator by mimicking juvenile hormone, preventing immature insects from reaching maturity.
Used in Agricultural Industry:
Ethyl 2-(4-phenoxyphenoxy)ethylcarbamate is used as an insecticide and miticide in the agricultural industry. It is intended to inhibit the metamorphosis of juvenile insects to the adult stage, and is used as bait to control various insects on crops such as olives, vines, fruit, cotton, and stored products. It is effective against fire ants, cockroaches, mosquitoes, beetles, moths, scale, and sucking insects.

Ethyl 2-(4-phenoxyphenoxy)ethylcarbamate is a carbamate ester. Carbamates are chemically similar to, but more reactive than amides. Like amides they form polymers such as polyurethane resins. Carbamates are incompatible with strong acids and bases, and especially incompatible with strong reducing agents such as hydrides. Flammable gaseous hydrogen is produced by the combination of active metals or nitrides with carbamates. Strongly oxidizing acids, peroxides, and hydroperoxides are incompatible with carbamates.

PROCESS AND MEANS FOR THE ERADICATION OF TICKS IN THE HABITATS OF SMALL MAMMALS

Disclosed is a process for using a compound according to formula (I) or formula (II) to prepare a mixture for the eradication of ticks in the living quarters of small mammals, especially cats and dogs.
