Preparation
Weigh 2.4000g sodium hydroxide and dissolve it in 30mL distilled water to make sodium hydroxide solution; Weigh 11.4684g nitrilotriacetic acid and dissolve it in the newly prepared sodium hydroxide solution , the reaction was stirred for 0.5h, and finally the trisodium nitrilotriacetate was obtained.
Flammability and Explosibility
Nonflammable
Safety Profile
Poison by intraperitoneal route. Moderately toxic by ingestion. Experimental reproductive effects. Questionable carcinogen with experimental neoplastigenic data. Mutation data reported. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NOx and NazO.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 5064-31-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,0,6 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5064-31:
(6*5)+(5*0)+(4*6)+(3*4)+(2*3)+(1*1)=73
73 % 10 = 3
So 5064-31-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Process to prepare amino carboxylic acid salts
-
, (2008/06/13)
An improved process is discloses to prepare an amino carboxylic acid salt. According to the process an aqueous solution of an amino alcohol is contacted with an alkali metal hydroxide in the presence of an effective amount of Raney copper catalyst that has from about 10 parts per million of an element selected from the group consisting of bismuth, tin, antimony, lead, germanium and mixtures thereof.
