Description
Eriochrome Black A, also known as Solochrome Black, is a synthetic azo dye characterized by its blue light gray to black color. It appears as a black powder and is soluble in water, producing a navy blue color with a water solubility of 60 g/l at 80°C. It is slightly soluble in ethanol and acetone. When dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid, it turns blue and turns yellow upon dilution to light brown. In concentrated nitric acid, it exhibits a red-orange color. Its aqueous solution is navy blue, which turns pale yellow light brown upon the addition of concentrated hydrochloric acid. When strong caustic is added, it turns orange brown. Eriochrome Black A is used for dyeing wool, producing a light purple color with slight white streaks when dyed in nitric acid.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 3618-58-4 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 3,6,1 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 3618-58:
(6*3)+(5*6)+(4*1)+(3*8)+(2*5)+(1*8)=94
94 % 10 = 4
So 3618-58-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
