Indeno(1,2,3-c,d)pyrene (193-39-5) is a yellow crystals from cyclohexane and bright-yellow plates from pet ether/C6H6. Mp: 161–163.5°.It's Chemical Properties is solid and insoluble in water. It has Vigorous reactions, sometimes amounting to explosions, can result from the contact between aromatic hydrocarbons, such as INDENO(1,2,3-C,D)PYRENE, and strong oxidizing agents. They can react exothermically with bases and with diazo compounds. Substitution at the benzene nucleus occurs by halogenati(acidcatalyst),nitration, sulfonation, and the Friedel-Crafts reaction.
