Uses of Dimethyl 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalate: it can be used to produce 2,5-Dichloro-3,6-dicarbomethoxybenzochinon at temperature of 0-5 °C. It will need reagents FeCl3, Cl2 and solvent CCl4. The yield is about 71 %.
