- One Synthetic Method of Indomethacin farnesil
-
farnesil (CAS NO.: ), with other name of 1H--3-acetic acid, 1-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-, 3,7,11-trimethyl-2,6,10-dodecatrienyl ester, could be produced through many synthetic methods.
Following is one of the reaction routes:
The reaction of 1-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-2-methyl-5-methoxyindolyl-3-acetic acid (I) with SOCl2 in refluxing benzene gives the corresponding acyl chloride (II), which is condensed with farnesol (III) by means of triethylamine in THF.
