1,3-Dioxane-4,6-dione, 2,2-dimethyl-5-[1-(1-pyrrolidinyl)butyl]-, also known as troglitazone, is a synthetic chemical compound used as a medication for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It functions as an insulin sensitizer and works by increasing the sensitivity of fat, muscle, and liver cells to insulin, leading to improved glucose utilization and decreased glucose production by the liver.
