General Description

Dregeoside A11 is a potent cytotoxic steroidal saponin isolated from the roots of Dregea volubilis, a medicinal plant native to Asia and Africa. It has been found to exhibit significant anti-cancer activity, particularly against various human tumor cell lines. Dregeoside A11 has also been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells by disrupting their mitochondrial membrane potential and activating caspase-3, a key enzyme involved in programmed cell death. Additionally, it has demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators. These findings suggest that dregeoside A11 may have potential therapeutic value in the treatment of cancer and inflammatory diseases.
