Usage

Description

CORIANDER OIL, extracted from the fruit of Coriandrum sativum L., is a clear, mobile, colorless to light-yellow liquid with a characteristic odor reminiscent of linalool. It is obtained by steam distillation and contains about 1 percent of volatile oil as the active constituent. The main component of coriander oil is (3S)-(+)-linalool, which contributes to its powerful aroma.

Uses

Used in Flavoring Industry:
CORIANDER OIL is used as a flavoring agent in foods for its mild, sweet, warm, and aromatic flavor.
Used in Perfume Industry:
CORIANDER OIL is used as a component in perfume compositions for its characteristic floral-balsamic and peppery-woody notes.
Used in Spice Blends:
CORIANDER OIL is used as a component of spice blends, such as curry powder, for its distinctive flavor.

Preparation

Essential oil composition

The main constituents of the oil include d- and dl-alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, dipentene, p-cymene, d-linalool, aldehyde C10, geraniol and acetic acid.
