6408-51-1 Usage
Description
ALIZARIN ASTROL is a synthetic dye that exhibits green and blue light properties. It is soluble in various solvents such as acetone, ethanol, o-chlorophenol, and pyridine, and slightly soluble in soluble fiber element. However, it is insoluble in chloroform and toluene. ALIZARIN ASTROL can produce different shades when treated with strong sulfuric acid, resulting in blue or purple colors.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
ALIZARIN ASTROL is used as a dye for coloring textiles. It is valued for its light fastness, soaping, perspiration fastness, and resistance to oxygen bleaching and seawater. The dye has a rating of ISO 4-5 for light fastness, 2-3 for soaping, 3 for perspiration fastness, 3-4 for oxygen bleaching, and 2 for fastness to seawater.
Used in Color Fastness Testing:
ALIZARIN ASTROL is used as a reference dye in color fastness testing to evaluate the performance of textiles under various conditions. The AATCC (American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists) rating system is used to assess the dye's performance, with a rating of 4 for light fastness, 1 for soaping, perspiration fastness, oxygen bleaching, and seawater fastness.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 6408-51-1 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,4,0 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6408-51:
(6*6)+(5*4)+(4*0)+(3*8)+(2*5)+(1*1)=91
91 % 10 = 1
So 6408-51-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
