Usage

Description

Entonox is a 50:50 mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide, created by bubbling oxygen through liquid nitrous oxide. This gas mixture exhibits unique properties due to the Poynting effect, where the gases dissolve into each other, resulting in a behavior that cannot be predicted from their individual properties. It is presented as a gas in French-blue cylinders with white and blue checked shoulders at a pressure of 137 bar when full. However, at temperatures below -7°C, Entonox can separate into its constituent parts due to the liquefaction of nitrous oxide, potentially leading to the delivery of a hypoxic mixture as the cylinder empties.

Uses
