Description
Acid Green 25, with the chemical formula C37H27N2NaO6S2, is an organic acid dye known for its blue light green color. It is available as a fine black or green powder and is soluble in water, o-chlorophenol, and slightly soluble in acetone, ethanol, and pyridine. It is insoluble in chloroform and toluene. When dissolved in strong sulfuric acid, it exhibits a blackish green color, which turns blue upon dilution. In nitric acid, it appears brown. The dye is characterized by its light fastness, soaping, perspiration fastness, oxygen bleaching, and fastness to seawater, with varying ratings according to ISO and AATCC standards.

Purification Methods
Purify it by salting out three times from an aqueous solution with sodium acetate, followed by repeated extraction with EtOH [McGrew & Schneider J Am Chem Soc 72 2547 1950]. It is a green powder that is slightly soluble in Me2CO, EtOH and pyridine. It is soluble in conc H2SO4 to give a blue solution that becomes turquoise on dilution. [Allen et al. J Org Chem 7 63 1942, Beilstein 14 H 725.]
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 4403-90-1 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 4,4,0 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 4403-90:
(6*4)+(5*4)+(4*0)+(3*3)+(2*9)+(1*0)=71
71 % 10 = 1
So 4403-90-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
