3441-14-3 Usage
Description
Direct Red 23 is a red-purple powder that is soluble in water, producing a colorful red solution with a solubility of 30 g/L at 80°C. It is also soluble in ethanol, resulting in an orange solution, but is insoluble in acetone. The dye solution generates a strong hydrochloric acid wine red precipitate, and adding 10% sulfuric acid results in a light blue color. Adding a thick sodium hydroxide solution produces a red-orange color, while adding 10% sodium carbonate does not change the solution. Direct Red 23 has good dye devouring rates on cellulose fibers, with the highest affinity between 80-100°C. It is resistant to acid and has good light fastness, soaping, and water fading properties.
Uses
Used in Cellulose Fiber Dyeing Industry:
Direct Red 23 is used as a dye for cellulose fibers, such as viscose, due to its good dye devouring rates and affinity for these fibers at 80-100°C. Its resistance to acid and good light fastness make it suitable for this application.
Used in Silk and Wool Dyeing:
Direct Red 23 can also be used for dyeing silk and wool, as it provides good colorfastness and resistance to acid.
Used in Paper and Pulp Dyeing:
Direct Red 23 is used in the dyeing of paper and pulp, offering good colorfastness and resistance to acid.
Used in Pigment Manufacturing:
Direct Red 23 can be used in the manufacture of pigments for various applications, such as paints, inks, and coatings, due to its vibrant color and good light fastness properties.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 3441-14-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 3,4,4 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 3441-14:
(6*3)+(5*4)+(4*4)+(3*1)+(2*1)+(1*4)=63
63 % 10 = 3
So 3441-14-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
