3248-91-7 Usage
Description
Basic Violet 2, also known as New Fuchsin, is a triaminotriphenylmethane dye that belongs to the group of Basic Fuchsin dyes. It is a dark red to light purple solid that is soluble in water and ethanol, exhibiting a red color. When treated with strong sulfuric acid, it turns yellow until golden brown, and when diluted, it becomes light yellow. Basic Violet 2 is used in various applications, including textiles, leather industries, pharmaceuticals, and as a dye for staining histological tissue sections or other samples of human origin.
Uses
Used in Textiles and Leather Industries:
Basic Violet 2 is used as a red dye in the textiles and leather industries due to its colorfastness properties. It has a light fastness rating of ISO 3 and perspiration fastness rating of ISO 4, making it suitable for染色 applications in these industries.
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Basic Violet 2 is used in the pharmaceutical industry for staining purposes, such as in Ziehl-Neelsen and Gram staining, as well as for methods with Schiff's reagent. It is also used as a Certistain dye, which is chemically quality-certified according to the highest standards and strict specifications.
Used in Microbiology:
Basic Violet 2 is used as a staining agent for the visualization of acid-fast bacteria (AFB) in microbiology. The dye is used to form a mycolate-fuchsin complex in the cell wall of AFB, which is difficult to decolorize. This property allows for the identification and differentiation of acid-fast and non-acid-fast microorganisms in microscopic examination.
Used in Histology:
Basic Violet 2 is used for staining histological tissue sections or other samples of human origin. It is used in combination with other staining methods, such as Ziehl-Neelsen, Gram staining, and Schiff's reagent, to provide clear and distinct visualization of cellular structures and organisms.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 3248-91-7 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 3,2,4 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 3248-91:
(6*3)+(5*2)+(4*4)+(3*8)+(2*9)+(1*1)=87
87 % 10 = 7
So 3248-91-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
