General Description
5-Bromo-6-chloro-3-indolyl-β-D-glucuronide, also known as X-Gluc, is a chemical compound commonly used in molecular biology research as a substrate for β-glucuronidase, an enzyme produced by certain bacteria and plants. X-Gluc is often used in the detection and visualization of β-glucuronidase activity in cellular and tissue samples, as it can be hydrolyzed by the enzyme to produce a blue precipitate. 5-Bromo-6-chloro-3-indolylb-D-glucuronide is particularly useful in the study of gene expression and promoter activity in transgenic plants and bacteria, as well as in the detection of β-glucuronidase reporter gene systems in molecular biology experiments. Additionally, X-Gluc can also be used in histochemical staining procedures to localize β-glucuronidase expression within plant and bacterial tissues.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 144110-42-9 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,4,4,1,1 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 144110-42:
(8*1)+(7*4)+(6*4)+(5*1)+(4*1)+(3*0)+(2*4)+(1*2)=79
79 % 10 = 9
So 144110-42-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
