129-51-1 Usage

Description

Ergonovine maleate, also known as ergotrate maleate, is a maleate salt derived from the reaction of equimolar amounts of maleic acid and ergometrine. It is a white solid with various pharmacological properties, making it a valuable compound in the medical field.

Uses

Used in Obstetrics and Gynecology:
Ergonovine maleate is used as an oxytocic agent for stimulating contraction of uterine muscle. It is particularly useful in the active management of the third stage of labor and in preventing or treating postpartum or postabortal hemorrhage caused by uterine atony. By maintaining uterine contraction and tone, blood vessels in the uterine wall are compressed, and blood flow is reduced, thus minimizing blood loss.
Used in Central Nervous System (CNS) Applications:
Ergonovine maleate acts as a partial agonist at serotonergic and dopaminergic receptors in the CNS. This property makes it potentially useful in the treatment of certain neurological disorders or conditions where modulation of these neurotransmitter systems is beneficial.
Used in Smooth Muscle Applications:
Ergonovine maleate serves as a selective and potent antagonist at smooth muscle serotonergic receptors. This characteristic can be exploited in the treatment of conditions involving smooth muscle dysfunction, such as certain gastrointestinal or vascular disorders.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 129-51-1 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 1,2 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 129-51:
(5*1)+(4*2)+(3*9)+(2*5)+(1*1)=51
51 % 10 = 1
So 129-51-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
