1219168-18-9 Usage
Description
BML-275 is a potent, reversible inhibitor of AMP kinase (AMPK) with a Ki value of 109 nM. It selectively inhibits the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) type I receptors ALK2, ALK3, and ALK6, blocking BMP-mediated SMAD1/5/8 phosphorylation, target gene transcription, and osteogenic differentiation. BML-275 can also dose-dependently inhibit the bone morphogenetic protein type 1 receptors ACTR-I (ALK2), BMPR-IA (ALK3), and BMPR-IB (ALK6). Additionally, BML-275 has been shown to downregulate the Akt/mTOR pathway to induce autophagy in U251 human glioma cells.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
BML-275 is used as an AMP-activated kinase (AMPK) inhibitor for its ability to selectively inhibit the bone morphogenetic protein type I receptors ALK2, ALK3, and ALK6. This inhibition blocks BMP-mediated SMAD1/5/8 phosphorylation, target gene transcription, and osteogenic differentiation, making it a potential candidate for the development of therapeutic agents targeting various diseases.
Used in Cancer Research:
BML-275 is used as a research tool to study the role of AMPK and BMP signaling pathways in cancer. Its ability to increase cisplatin-induced apoptosis and downregulate the Akt/mTOR pathway to induce autophagy in cancer cells makes it a valuable compound for investigating the mechanisms of cancer progression and the development of novel therapeutic strategies.
Used in Drug Discovery:
BML-275 is used as a starting point for the development of new drugs targeting AMPK and BMP signaling pathways. Its potent and selective inhibition of these pathways makes it a promising candidate for the design and synthesis of new compounds with improved pharmacological properties and therapeutic potential.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 1219168-18-9 includes 10 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 7 digits, 1,2,1,9,1,6 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1219168-18:
(9*1)+(8*2)+(7*1)+(6*9)+(5*1)+(4*6)+(3*8)+(2*1)+(1*8)=149
149 % 10 = 9
So 1219168-18-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
