Description
Germanium telluride (GeTe) is an efficient semiconductor material composed of germanium and tellurium, known for its phase-change properties and semimetallic conduction with ferroelectric behavior. It exhibits four distinct structural states, including one amorphous and three crystalline forms at varying temperatures. This product has been enhanced for energy efficiency.
Uses
Used in Thermoelectric Applications:
Germanium telluride is utilized as a thermoelectric compound for improving energy efficiency. Its performance is further enhanced through nanostructuring, non-stoichiometric defects, doping, and alloying with other materials.
Used in Semiconductor Industry:
In the semiconductor industry, GeTe serves as an important material, particularly when doped, it can act as a low-temperature superconductor. Its unique properties make it suitable for various applications within the field.
Used in Optical and Electronic Non-Volatile Memories:
Germanium telluride is recognized as a prototypical phase change material of high interest for its use in optical and electronic non-volatile memories, making it a valuable component in data storage technology.
Preparation
Germanium telluride is produced by heating Ge (less resistivity) and Te (99.998%) to their melting points in an evacuated quartz tube. single crystals can be obtained using the zone melting method.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 12025-39-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,2,0,2 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 12025-39:
(7*1)+(6*2)+(5*0)+(4*2)+(3*5)+(2*3)+(1*9)=57
57 % 10 = 7
So 12025-39-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
