119911-68-1 Usage
Description
ALPHA-CGRP (8-37) (HUMAN), also known as Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide Fragment 8-37 human, is a 37-amino-acid vasoactive neuropeptide derived from the calcitonin/calcitonin gene-related peptide gene complex. It is found in the central and peripheral nervous systems and is more potent than other vasodilators like adenosine, substance P, or acetylcholine. The CALCA gene is located on human chromosome 11p15.2-p15.1, and procalcitonin (PCT) is a calcitonin (CT) precursor.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Applications:
ALPHA-CGRP (8-37) (HUMAN) is used as a drug administration agent for testing the role of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) in fetal cardiovascular and metabolic defense responses to acute hypoxaemia by affecting sympathetic outflow.
Used in Research and Development:
ALPHA-CGRP (8-37) (HUMAN) is used as a research tool for studying the effects of CGRP on various physiological processes, including vasodilation and its potential role in conditions such as hypertension, migraine, and other vascular disorders.
Used in Drug Delivery Systems:
ALPHA-CGRP (8-37) (HUMAN) can be employed in the development of novel drug delivery systems to enhance the therapeutic outcomes of CGRP-related treatments, potentially improving the delivery, bioavailability, and efficacy of related drugs.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Selective competitive antagonist at CGRP receptors, but not at calcitonin receptors.Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CALCA) serves as a proangiogenic growth factor in the development of human placenta. Mutations of CALCA gene is associated with Parkinson′s disease, ovarian cancer and essential hypertension. CALCA induce vascular endothelial cell proliferation, migration and capillary-like tube formation.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 119911-68-1 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,1,9,9,1 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 119911-68:
(8*1)+(7*1)+(6*9)+(5*9)+(4*1)+(3*1)+(2*6)+(1*8)=141
141 % 10 = 1
So 119911-68-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
