A 13C NMR Study of Formaldehyde Association in an Ethylene Glycol Solution
The qualitative and quantitative composition of solutions of formaldehyde in ethylene glycol is studied by the 13C NMR method at 90 deg C in the range of formaldehyde concentrations from 0 to 20 mol/l.Equilibrium constants of polycondensation are determined for hemiformals H(OCH2)nOCH2CH2OH and H(OCH2)mOCH2CH2O(CH2O)kH (n, m, k = 1, 2, >/= 3).
